Writing, writing, and more writing.

Well this is my first post in the new blog section. I initially set this site upload drafts and incomplete books I am writing onto as a place to get thoughts, and feedback. The first book I put up ‘A Mind Not My Own’ has been the focus of my writing for the past 6 months or so. I am still working on the book, as it is about my journey dealing, and being treated for mental illnesses. As I am still undergoing treatment, and they are still making further diagnoses I don’t foresee that it will be finished for sometime. However, I did add a new chapter to ‘A Mind Not My Own’ earlier today. I had an appointment with my Psychiatrist this morning, and this tied a few things together for me, which allowed me to write a bit more as I could tie things into a new chapter. It was a fairly intense session this morning, which left me feeling somewhat out of sorts. Writing the new chapter helped settle my mind and get on with things, like updating this site and improving it.

At the moment, my focus is on writing Chymera. I am finding writing this book very different to writing any others I have worked on. It seems I put my hands on the keyboard and the words just start to stream out of me, faster than I can type.  In 2 days I wrote 8200 words, and feel like I have barely scratched the surface of the book, so I am expecting this to be a pretty long one.

I noticed today when I was updating the site today I have hit 285 followers. Pretty excited by that, along with that I have 152 views of my book. Unfortunately, no one has commented on anything yet. Looking forward to hearing some feedback guys.

About malensteptoe
I am work for one of Australia's big 4 banks in the System Admin Team. I am also a mental health sufferer. Currently diagnosed with OCD, MDD, Panic Disorder, Anxiety Disorder, Agoraphobia and Trichotillomania. I also write books and a blog. I am an advocate for change of the view towards mental health sufferers. We can and are beneficial people in society, with much to offer and contribute. We are not all violent, actually the percentage of violent tendencies in the mentally ill and those without mental illness are no different. You may work with someone right next to someone with mental illness and never know. So maybe it's time to re-evaluate your opinions?
